LILIANNE UCHENNA AMAH-ALUKO was born the fourth of five children to Chief and Mrs. P.S. Amah of Ojoto in Anambra State. A naval officer and school teacher respectively, Chief and Mrs. Amah on their return from Freetown, Sierra Leone in 1974 eventually settled in Warri, Delta state.
Lilianne started school in St. Anthony’s nursery and primary school in Brookefields, Freetown and later attended other schools such as All Saints Anglican school Yaba, Federal Government College, Warri and the University of Lagos Akoka where she graduated with a Master of Arts in English in 1991.
Married to Adeseye Olukayode Aluko a civil engineer, newspaper columnist and musician, Lilianne worked for several years in diverse sectors of the economy such as ADC airlines, DHL, Fedex, Nigeria Merchant bank, New World Merchant bank and rounded up with a five year stint in Fidelity Bank PLC. In 2005, Lilianne left the world of banking for the entertainment sector which she had been flirting with informally for several years. The CEO of New Dawn Productions is an award winning actress and film producer with 3 productions under her belt.
A writer, Lilianne’s first novel “Echoes of a Heartbeat” was published in November 2006 by Athena Press of the United Kingdom. The book was shortlisted for ANA award 2007 in Women writing category. Work has started on her second “Dreams of Yesterday’ which she hopes to finish soon. A firm believer in the saying “this too shall pass”, Lilianne’s motto is “Life is short so live it to the fullest.” |
